Recycled Red Dress

This one I was proud of. The best model, the coolest assignment, the worst fabric to work with. Featured in Colorado State University’s yearly fashion show, this was my answer to making a dress out of recycled parachute. During my lustrous emo phase I bought the brightest red Abercrombie and Fitch jacket to go with my eccentric taste. I used that jacket to make the body of this dress, so it holds a special place in my heart.

The design featured a cape sleeve that was held across the front right to left and attached with bungee hooking the two buttons. Attached to the back was a grouping of long strands of parachute fabric. The fabric was so light it would hang back as the model walked forward. Would not recommend fabric that blows away when you yell at it.
